Saxophonist Peter Ehwald came to London's Royal Academy of Music in 2003 searching for artistic stimulation and new creative influences. After several pints with local pianist Arthur Lea, he consequently readjusted his expectations, and so began an intimate musical friendship. The following year was spent reinventing jazz standards, listening to records, and arguing over penalty shoot-outs. The two combine an English sense of efficiency with a German sense of humor to produce some truly beautiful European music. The creative process reflects their combined culinary efforts: Peter creates a simple yet appetizing palate, Arthur adds an appropriately excessive amount of ornamentation, and sensual heaven ensues...
